This is not a T-34 event but rather a mix of all sorts.
You cannot register on line, you will need to reach out to Greg directly to register.
So here is the skinny. The Mingle will begin as folks start flying in on Thursday September 16, 2021. We will get you settled in and hang at the airport to watch the arrival and see old friends and meet new ones. There will be some light snacks if you’re a bit hungry after your flight or we can send you out for some fast food. If the weather is good the majority of the folks will show up by 1800 hours on Thursday. We will be having Pizza and beverages but haven’t decided if we will do it at the airport or head out to my place. No mater, Thursday night is Pizza night.
Friday morning, we will get our safety and orientation briefing completed and then we are off to the races. Again, this year our focus is getting our leads comfortable with larger than 4 aircraft formations. As always, we will do a large formation with those that want to join in. Last year we put up 21 aircraft and did a beautiful flyby for my neighbor’s daughter’s wedding here at Fall Creek. Haven’t decided on Friday night dinner arrangements yet but will probably end up at local restaurants (your cost).
Saturday morning will be more of the same and if we have enough interest, we can put together our ACRO class and flying for those that want to see the ground by looking up. The problem I have is coming up with instructors that want to take folks up and teach some gentleman ACRO. SO, if you would like this as a student or would volunteer your time as a teacher, please let me know and I’ll put the event on the schedule. Saturday afternoon is reserved for our Tactical Exercise followed by the Saturday night Fall Creek Banquet at my place complete with a free raffle of items from our sponsors and the traditional night glow balloon launch.
Here is the deal in short. The Mingle is September 16-19 2021 at the Lebanon Municipal Airport (M54). This is NOT an Official Clinic for folks seeking initial formation training! There will be NO ground School. If you are ready and a need a flight or two, a REC Ride or check ride, we should be able to accommodate. Just let me know in advance so we can schedule what you need. There is a small fee of $110-$120 (maybe less) for pilots and $60 for GIBS that will cover all your transportation, beverages and most food to include Thursday afternoon snacks during arrivals, Thursday night Pizza dinner, Friday Lunch, Saturday Lunch and the Saturday night Banquet. You know, Banquet sound like its something special but in the end its just dinner at our place. Deb and I have put a limit at feeding 60 folks so I’ll be watching the number as registrations come in. Speaking of registrations, if you are planning on attending, please let me know. When you do, I will send you a Registration Form to fill out and return to me if you are new to The Mingle. If you are a previous Mingler, I will send you your previous completed form for review and if there are no changes just let me know. If there are changes, make the corrections and send the form back to me. I use this info for planning meals, transportation, hotels and sharing numbers with the folks at Lebanon Airport so they can provide their excellent service with additional staff, parking arrangements etc.
For those that attended last year, I once again want to thank you. You might remember the Hurricane remnants would not go away and I thought it was going to be a bust. I looked up and out of the grey, I heard the sound of radial engines, first one then a formation and I said to myself Damn I love these folks” Thanks for all the extra effort. We went from 42 aircraft to 25 but hey the 25 was 4 more than we had the previous year! Again, “WELCOME TO THE MINGLE”! Call, text or email if you are planning on attending and I will get your Registration Form out to you as I need to get planning! I will be putting together a schedule with additional info as we get around 30 days out. Fly Safe, Keep the greasy side down (unless you are doing some acro) and don’t forget “Live, Love and Laugh” that seems to be the only thing we have left anymore.
Just got off the phone with Katie at what was previously call The Executive Inn. Same hotel just a name change to “Cedar Valley Inn” Katie is going to give us our rooms again this year at $39.00 a night! Yes, that is right and that’s what I said, $39.00 per night and a $5.00 a day coupon for Cracker Barrel next to the hotel for breakfast.
