The National Museum of the United States Air Force
Wright Patterson AFB, Dayton Ohio (KFFO - Museum Runway)

This is a very special event and we want to encourage ALL members to attend.  You DO NOT have to fly formation or be formation qualified to attend.

Fly, drive or walk, we have been invited to be the spotlight aircraft to help celebrate the 100 Year Anniversary of the National Museum of the US Air Force Museum.  The event is being held at an active US Airforce base and we have been given special permission to land, display our aircraft and preform a few flying demonstrations.

The plan is to rally all aircraft at the Butler County Airport (KHAO) just south of Dayton on Friday afternoon.  As there is no fuel or facilites available on the base we will ask that all pilots top their fuel at KHAO.  The airport is offering a discount to all T-34 members.

All pilots will be required to attend a briefing and paperwork check, in advance of the base arrival.  We will have two escorted sorties to the Air Force base in the afternoon.  You do not have to be formation qualified to fly into the field.  The landing runway is nearly 5,000 feet long by 150 foot wide in good condition and we will make all necessary accommodations to assure a safe arrival and departure.  Planes will be parked on the base overnight and displayed throughout the day on Saturday.  Departures from the base will occur on Sunday.

As the museum is located on an active military base some additional paperwork is required.  You must first register on the website, then submit all paperwork to T34website@gmail.com.  Please keep a copy with you and do not email anywhere else.  The deadline for submission is May 8, 2023.

NOTE: You must attend the Mass Brief at HAO to participate in this event. There will be no possibility to arrive at the NMUSAF on your own.

Donation / Registration Fee:
Did you know that the T-34 Association is a registered 501c3, Public Charity.  As such we are tax exempt and donors can deduct contributions made to the T-34 Association under IRC (Internal Revenue Code) Section 170.  (https://apps.irs.gov/app/eos/    EIN#:37-1133394)

With that in mind we are trying a bit of a different approach for this event.  We would like to request that members donate to the Association to help defray costs for this event and other events scheduled for this year.  The donations are fully tax deductible minus the benefit received for this event ($85 per attendee) and can be made as an individual or as a business. As an example, if you are strictly a donor and do not plan to attend the event then the full amount of your donation is deductible.  If you do attend the event then you may deduct your donation minus the value of the goods and services received.  In this case the value received at this event is $85 anything you donate above this amount is deductible.

In other words if you donate $85 you would receive no tax benefit but you would pay for the cost of your attendance.  If you donate above that amount then anything in excess of the benefit received is deductible.  Example, you donate $100 then $15 would be deductible.  You or your business donates $500 then $415 is tax deductible or if you donate $5,000 then $4,915 would be tax deductible for tax year 2023.

We are only going to do this one time for this event.  We ask that you select the donation button HERE or the menu bar on the top of this page under DONATE / SPONSOR.  You can donate whatever amount you want as an individual or as a business.  No list of your donations will be printed or otherwise published unless you give permission.  Don't stress out about this, you are under no obligation, eyeballs, comments or anything else to donate anything whatsoever.  The funds will be used to pay for this event and defray costs for others in the future.  Please call or email if you have any questions about this whatsoever.
